MVP Race: Who's been making moves?

MUNICH (Germany) - With five games of the EuroLeague Women Regular Season already done and dusted, the race for MVP honors is beginning to take a more concrete shape.

While still way too early (though not as early as Volume 1) to have anybody as a potential lock for the accolade with nine games still to be played, there's plenty of star dust sprinkled over this updated and stellar top 10.

1. Kayla McBride - Fenerbahce Alagoz Holding  (-)

GUARD

Average Stats: 22.0 EFF; 17.4 PPG; 4.6 APG; 4.4 RPG; 2.4 SPG

Crowned the October MVP, it continues to be brilliant for McBride at both ends of the court. It means the guard has every chance of posting the best EuroLeague Women season of her career if she can maintain this exceptional form in coming games. Fenerbahce Alagoz Holding have certainly benefited hugely as they sit on a flawless 5-0 record.

2. Ezi Magbegor - ZVVZ USK Praha (+1)

CENTER

Average Stats: 25.6 EFF; 18.2 PPG;10.2 RPG; 3.6 BPG

The fact that Magbegor leads the competition in efficiency highlights the tremendous job she has done since landing in the Czech capital. Her season double-double in itself is impressive, but she also leads the way in blocked shots with a spectacular 3.6 per outing. Her displays have propelled ZVVZ USK Praha to the top of Group B.

3. Marina Mabrey - Cukurova Basketbol Mersin 🆕

GUARD

Average Stats: 16.0 EFF; 19.3 PPG; 5.5 RPG; 3.5 APG

It's a deserved new entry into the list for Mabrey whose uplift in form has coincided with her team finding some momentum and moving to 4-1. Her top three spot in the ranking reflects her position as the competition's leading scorer. Vital to taking Schio to the Final Four last season, the guard looks like she will be back for 2024 with Cukurova.

4. Emma Meesseman - Fenerbahce Alagoz Holding (+1)

POWER FORWARD

Average Stats: 20.2 EFF; 15.4 PPG; 4.8 RPG; 4.2 APG

Everyone is acutely aware of her attributes and nobody would back against last year's MVP ultimately pushing on to seal back-to-back honors. It feels like Meesseman is moving through the gears and as a clutch performer, her best and most vital work is still to come. As always, it's her assists contributions which underline her all-around quality.

5. Cecilia Zandalasini - Virtus Segafredeo Bologna  (-3)

GUARD

Average Stats: 19.4 EFF; 14.6 PPG; 7.6 RPG; 5.0 APG; 2.0 SPG

After a red-hot start for Virtus Segafredo Bologna, their form has cooled a little with successive losses and that feeds into a move downwards for Zandalasini. However, there is no denying her a top five spot since she has still been the primary contributor and one of the stars of the Regular Season so far.

6. Leonie Fiebich - Casademont Zaragoza 🆕

SHOOTING GUARD / SMALL FORWARD

Average Stats: 18.8 EFF; 12.2 PPG; 8.4 RPG; 2.0 APG

7. Alina Iagupova - Cukurova Basketbol Mersin (+3)

SMALL FORWARD

Average Stats: 16.6 EFF; 19.0 PPG; 5.2 APG; 4.8 RPG

8. Arella Guirantes - Beretta Famila Schio (+1)

GUARD

Average Stats: 15.0 EFF; 14.6 PPG; 5.0 RPG; 2.4 APG

9. Brittney Sykes - KGHM BC Polkowice 🆕

GUARD

Average Stats: 17.5 EFF; 15.0 PPG; 8.0 RPG; 4.3 APG

10. Maite Cazorla - ZVVZ USK Praha 🆕

GUARD

Average Stats: 15.2 EFF; 11.2 PPG; 5.6 APG; 3.8 RPG
