Williams headlines Top Performers of the Qualifiers

MUNICH (Germany) - Brooque Williams headlines the Top Performers of the EuroLeague Women Qualifiers after starring for Bellona Kayseri Basketbol.

While the guard was terrific in both games, including the opener with KSC Szekszard, it was a phenomenal 42 efficiency against ACS Sepsi-SIC that ultimately crowned her the best performer of the competition. She poured in 37-points and served up 8 rebounds and 7 assists for her team in the 79-78 defeat, ensuring she finished with a combined average efficiency of 26.5 per game.

However, it was also bittersweet for Williams, since Kayseri missed out on the Regular Season and will now play in EuroCup Women instead.

Joining Williams in the best five is Brianna Fraser, who excelled in the same game against Bellona Kayseri as ACS Sepsi-Sic missed out on the next phase -  despite playing in front of their home fans. The forward did at least help her team get the win after a dazzling 31 points and 6 rebounds, which followed on from 28 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists against KSC Szekszard, resulting in an average efficiency of 23.5.

In contrast to Williams and Fraser, there was double joy for Beretta Famila Schio teammates Sandrine Gruda and Kitija Laksa, who both get a place after propelling the Italians back to their usual Regular Season place. It was Laksa who got them rolling in the opening and vital 56-48 win against Valencia BC with a sharp-shooting effort that returned 19 points, 4 rebounds and 4 assists. She also fired a smart 13 points against Tango Bourges Basket to finish with an average efficiency of 16.

Meanwhile Gruda helped Schio finish the job in a 69-57 win against Tango Bourges Basket when she showed her class by accumulating 21 points and 9 boards. That was off the back of helping in grinding out the precious victory against Valencia to average an efficiency of 15.5.

Last but not least, Cyesha Goree was instrumental in ensuring a slice of history for KSC Szekszard who will now play in their maiden Regular Season in the competition. The center was hugely important in both games and especially getting them off to an 80-70 winning start against Bellona Kayseri with 18 points and 11 rebounds. Goree followed it up with 15 points, 8 reboiunds and 4 steals against ACS Sepsi-SIC for an average efficiency of 17.5.
