Perfection for Avenida, Sopron and UMMC; statement win for LDLC ASVEL Feminin

MUNICH (Germany) - Perfumerias Avenida, Sopron Basket and UMMC Ekaterinburg have all ended their respective first EuroLeague Women Regular Season hubs with perfect records, while LDLC ASVEL Feminin posted a statement win against Fenerbahce.

Avenida were hugely impressive on the last day of action as they condemned Dynamo Kursk to an 89-74 defeat in Group A.

Dutch center Emese Hof showed out with 14 points, 13 rebounds and 4 assists, while Tiffany Hayes and Katie-Lou Samuelson scored 16 and 14 points respectively. Stephanie Mavunga responded with 14 points and 14 rebounds for Dynamo Kursk, who left the hub winless.

UMMC Ekaterinburg coasted their way to a perfect 3-0 record as they blasted their way past TTT Riga 104-71. Breanna Stewart led the scoring with 22 points, Alba Torrens had 14 points and 11 assists, with Jonquel Jones scoring 19 points without missing shot all night.

Sopron Basket made the most of being the hosts in Group D as they completed a fruitful first hub by beating Basket Landes 70-59.  Gabby Williams and Jelena Brooks both inked 18 points to the job done for the home side as they followed up their win against Bourges.

In Group B, LDLC ASVEL Feminin showed a lot of mental strength to recover from their agonizing loss to ZVVZ USK Praha by making a statement for the remainder of the campaign with a super 84-70 success against Fenerbahce.

It was a majestic team effort from Lyon, with Alysha Clark leading the way by recording 17 points and 6 rebounds, while Marine Johannes reminded everyone of her creative ability as well as her scoring touch by handing out 10 assists.

ZVVZ USK Praha eased out VBW Arka Gdynia 85-76 thanks to a rare triple-double from Alyssa Thomas, who headlined with 19 points, 12 assists and 11 rebounds. There was also a sparkling line from Brionna Jones who produced a towering 28 points and 10 rebounds.

Finally, there was a critical meeting in Group C between Spar Girona and Famila Schio and it was the former who won a roller-coaster and exciting match-up 85-81. Despite a brilliant 28 points and 11 rebounds from Sandrine Gruda for Schio, there was no denying Girona who dug out the victory as a team, with Sonja Vasic landing a team-high 16 points.
