Sopron Basket snap losing streak; Girona complete rescue mission

MUNICH (Germany) - Sopron Basket brought their recent barren spell to an end as they dug out a precious victory against Schio, while Spar Citylift Girona completed a super comeback win after overturning a 17-point deficit.

After four straight defeats, the pressure was beginning to weigh heavy on Sopron, but they arrested their slump with a gutsy showing to see off Famila Schio 59-51.

Aleksandra Crvendakic was one of the main keys to an overdue success with a team-high 16 points, while Bernadett Hatar played her best game of the campaign for the hosts with a nice 12 points, 11 rebounds and 3 blocks.

Meanwhile, Spar Citylift Girona celebrated a fantastic recovery against BLMA as they turned things around to take a dramatic 56-55 victory.

The home fans not only enjoyed their team's fightback, but also had the added joy of witnessing the return of Sonja Vasic (nee Petrovic), who was making her belated debut in the competition after recovering from her pre-season surgery.

BLMA had dominated the opening half, but Girona made the adjustments needed to get back on their feet as they locked down their opponents in a big way after the break.

They prevailed after seeing BLMA rimming out on the last possession and will be thankful to Magali Mendy, who dropped a team-high 23 points, while Naignouma Coulibaly completed a double-double of 12 points and 11 rebounds.
