Fenerbahce make statement and Johannes gets it done for Lyon

MUNICH (Germany) - The big guns were firing on all cylinders during Week 4 as Fenerbahce Oznur Kablo picked up a major scalp on the road, while Marine Johannes delivered in crunch time for LDLC Asvel Feminin.

Having lost in their previous road game a fortnight ago, Fenerbahce made amends in style with a 73-54 triumph at Dynamo Kursk. Alina Iagupova has already made the Team of the Week twice this season since her summer move and she is likely to do so again after more outstanding work.

She was on fire and the provided the main thrust after posting a special performance. The Ukrainian ace scored 28 points after going 10-of-13 from the field, also adding a super 8 assists and 6 steals. Meanwhile, Elizabeth Williams played an important cameo behind the headline display of her teammate, offering a nice double-double of 19 points and 12 rebounds.

Marine Johannes was another high-profile move during the off-season and she repaid a chunk of that faith shown in her by LDLC Asvel Feminin with a big score in the last minute to help her team past Sopron Basket 62-59. Her fellow guard Ingrid Tanqueray made up for the absence of Julie Allemand by stepping up for 16 points and 7 rebounds.

Reigning champions UMMC Ekaterinburg faced what was arguably their toughest test of the Regular Season at ZVVZ USK Praha and avoided a late scare to prevail. Having suffered a rare loss in the same fixture last year, they used their depth to turn up the heat and collect a 74-67 success.

There was drama in Turkey as Gelecek Koleji Cukurova needed overtime to eventually get past TTT Riga 60-55, holding the Latvians to just one bucket in the extra period. Leo Rodriguez top scored with 15 points, while Nia Coffey had 13 boards and 5 blocked shots.

After starting the season with two losses, Bourges Basket are now back on course after securing back to back wins by beating Castors Braine 72-63 on the road. The French side hopped over the border and recorded their triumph thanks mainly to a brilliant 8-of-9 shooting effort from Marissa Coleman who netted 19 points.
