Unstoppable Griner snaps up weekly Top Performer honors

MUNICH (EuroLeague Women) – Brittney Griner underlined her status as one of the best centers in the game, as she needed only 25 minutes on the floor to deliver the most efficient performance of EuroLeague Women Week 3.

The 28-year-old dominated the paint in UMMC Ekaterinburg's 80-51 win at Nadezhda, as she went 10-of-13 from the field en-route to a game-high 23 points, while also adding 7 rebounds, 3 blocks and 2 steals for an efficiency index of 30.

Her frontcourt partner in the Team of the Week delivered a similarly impressive performance. Fenerbahce showed character in their 69-67 triumph over Sopron Basket, and had Anastasiya Verameyenka to thank for another superb game under the basket.

The Belarus international picked up 22 points, 10 rebounds and an efficiency of 29, as the Istanbul juggernauts bounced back from last week's overtime heartbreak at Perfumerias Avenida.

Meanwhile, the Spanish side continued on their winning ways and proved they can also do it on the road, registering a 68-56 win against TTT Riga. Silvia Dominguez paced Avenida with 16 points, 6 assists and 3 rebounds to earn herself a spot in the backcourt of the Top Performer lineup.

There was joy for the home fans in Polkowice, as CCC registered their first win, 71-52 over Castors Braine, behind an outstanding performance by Tiffany Hayes. The 29-year-old guard was too much to handle for the Braine defense, as she kept finding her way to the basket for 23 points on 8-of-9 shooting, 6 rebounds and an efficiency rating of 28.

There were also smiles in France, with EuroLeague Women newcomers Carolo Basket getting their second win in three games by edging out Hatay BB 90-79. The hosts profited from a balanced offense, with six players scoring in double figures.

It was Queralt Casas to top them all in terms of efficiency and make her second appearance among the Top Performers after posting an all-round stat line of 14 points, 7 assists, 6 rebounds and 3 steals.
