Trio all bounce back while Zandalasini thanks Fenerbahce fans

MUNICH (EuroLeague Women) - There was a bouncebackability factor to Wednesday's games as several clubs returned to winning ways, including Fenerbahce who were inspired by their fans.

It was Cecilia Zandalsini who got hot early for the Turkish juggernauts as she scored her first six shots of the game against Hatay to pace her side with 19 points in an 87-74  triumph. And, speaking after the victory, it was the supporters who took the plaudits from the Italian shooting star.

She said, "It was an important game for us because we have lost twice against Hatay this season so far, in the President's Cup and in the Turkish League.

"In addition, the game was so important because of the standings in our group. I'm very happy about how we played and I think we deserved to win clearly.

"The fans supported us in an amazing way and so special thanks to them," she added.

Perfumerias Avenida also got back on track as Angelica Robinson starred with 17 points from 7-of-9 floor shooting as the Salamanca club won 62-75 on the road at Carolo Basket.

That made up in some way for last week's home setback against Sopron Basket as they moved to 3-2 for the season.

ZVVZ USK Praha also came good again by breezing their way to an 82-63 home victory against Castors Braine. Once again it was Alyssa Thomas who stood out as she posted a brilliant 23 points, 8 rebounds, 5 assists and 5 steals.

Elsewhere, Nadezhda made it successive victories as they beat ESBVA-LM 72-49, with CCC Polkowice also taking a home success as they outlasted the still winless Famila Schio by 67-61.

Last but not least, Bourges Basket and visiting champions UMMC Ekaterinburg served up one of the most absorbing games of the season so far in a brilliant matchup at Le Prado. But the visitors spoiled a potential party by escaping with a 70-74 overtime win, built around a Brittney Griner double-double of 19 points and 10 rebounds.
