Only one ticket remaining after Sopron Basket grab their spot in the Play-Offs

SOPRON (Hungary) - There is just one more ticket remaining for the EuroLeague Women Play-Offs after Sopron Basket beat Hatay to seal their post-season spot.

Despite an abject offensive opening which saw them fall behind to the visitors, a terrific third period witnessed Sopron finally find some rhythm and it paved the way for a 64-52 home floor success.

Last year's Finalists were paced by Aleksandra Crvendakic and Yvonne Turner. The former finished with a double-double of 14 points and 12 rebounds.

Turner only made 1 of her first 6 shots but recovered impressively to accumulate an all-action 19 points,  5 rebounds, 5 assists and 3 steals.

"We should have played better, and I saw some sad faces in the locker room because of that, but we have to be proud of what we have accomplished. We have made it to the top eight in Europe twice in a row! We have done that from the toughest group of my coaching career. We can be really proud of how we fought through difficulties," commented playcaller Roberto Iniguez.

Sopron Basket join UMMC Ekaterinburg, Dynamo Kursk, ZVVZ USK Praha, TTT Riga, Fenerbahce and Bourges Basket in the last eight of the competition. They will be joined by either CCC Polkowice or Nadezhda after the conclusion of the Regular Season next week.

Meanwhile despite the defeat and falling to 5-8, Hatay can still qualify for the EuroCup Women Quarter-Finals.
