Studer adamant defense can unlock dreams of KSC Szekszard

MONTPELLIER (EuroLeague Women) – One of the most exciting players in Europe, teenage ace Agnes Studer is ready to turn up the defensive heat to help KSC Szekszard reach the EuroLeague Women Regular Season.

After a sparkling summer wearing Hungary national team colors at the FIBA U20 Women's European Championship, the playmaker caught the eye yet again when she was on fire during the Qualifiers first leg against BLMA.

KSC Szekszard made history with their first-ever win in the competition, completing a memorable and absorbing 80-79 triumph against their French opponents.

Studer contributed 12 points and 6 assists in the contest and the guard believes they will have to stand strong as clear underdogs during Tuesday's pivotal second leg in France.

She stated: "I felt pretty good myself and it was such an honor to win the first game.

"It was a good start for us in terms of winning and the fans were fantastic.

"I'm proud of my team, although we had a lot of mistakes and we gave up too many points, so we have to be much better defensively in this next game."

The atmosphere was white-hot in the first leg and even BLMA guard Giorgia Sottana paid tribute to the supporters who roared their team to the narrow victory.

She was the standout figure on her debut for her new team and will be a big danger in the second matchup - although was quick to point out the positives for KSC Szekszard who will drop into EuroCup Women if they can't cause another surprise.

"I really want to congratulate them and express how it is such a nice place to play," reflected Sottana.

"It is always a pleasure and good feeling to compete in front of so many people.

"I gave congratulations to their team for winning the first one, but we are now ready to move on during this second game," warned the former Schio guard, who racked up 21 points on the road.
