Roundup: Regular season titles for Avenida and Praha, Cups for Namur, Kosice and Partizan

MUNICH (EuroLeague/EuroCup Women) - Perfumerias Avenida and ZVVZ USK Praha continue to dominate their own respective leagues, while Cup silverware was snatched up by Namur, Good Angels Kosice and Partizan Belgrade over the weekend.

Perfumerias Avenida finish top of the pile again
A rampant 58-80 triumph on the road at IDK Gipuzkoa was enough for Perfumerias Avenida to secure the Liga Femenina Regular Season title again.


Five players hit double figures, with Brazilian center Erika De Souza impressing with a near double-double of 11 points and 9 rebounds as Avenida warmed up nicely for Thursday's trip to Galatasaray in the EuroCup Women Semi-Finals.

ZVVZ USK Praha continue their dominance
Czech powerhouse ZVVZ USK Praha have posted yet another flawless effort as they finished with a perfect 22-0 record to take pole position in the ZBL and another Regular Season title.

They wrapped up in style and suggested another Championship will soon be on the way after smashing past nearest challengers DSK Basketball Nymburk 84-60. Amanda Zahui and Alena Hanusova combined in the frontcourt for 18 and 17 points.

Belgian Cup won in style by Namur
THere was a one-sided Cup Final in Belgium as EuroCup Women side Namur tore past Waregem 51-73, as Briana Day, Asia Boyd and Belgian national team forward Hanne Mestdagh all came up with leading contributions.

Day was the standout with 21 points, while Boyd and Mestdagh added 15 and 13 points respectively. 

Good Angels Kosice land EEWBL silverware
The Eastern European Women's Basketball League title was won in dramatic fashion by Good Angels Kosice as they beat frontrunners TTT Riga with a buzzer beater from Darxia Morris.


The American hit a triple as time ticked down to wrap up a thrilling 74-71 win, while Slovak Republic legend Zuzana Zirkova was crowned MVP.

Partizan beat arch rivals to Serbian Cup honors
Partizan Belgrade had a party over the weekend as they won their Cup Final derby 61-68 against Crvena Zvezda.


It was veteran Ivanka Matic who proved to be the difference maker as she helped her side land the coveted silverware with a towering performance under the basket. The center finished the contest with an MVP haul of 30 points and 16 rebounds.

Galatasaray continue rotten domestic run
It's now a 7-12 record in the Turkish League for Galatasaray after they were routed 54-75 at home to Cukurova, with the visitors propelled by 16 points and 13 boards from Erlana Larkins.

The table-topping Yakin Dogu Universitesi dodged a bullet as a superb 17 points and 14 assists from Courtney Vandersloot took them to a tight 56-58 win at Mersin.


A tally of 18 points from both Leilani Mitchell and Katsiaryna Snystina catapulted Hatay to a 75-85 win at Ormanspor. Fenerbahce bounced back from the disappointment of their EuroLeague Women exit by storming past Botas 86-56, with Kia Vaughn netting 21 points.

Derby joy for Basket Landes in LFB
Basket Landes celebrated a thrilling 71-67 success against South-West rivals Tarbes as Queralt Casas landed 21 points and 8 rebounds. The top three remains unchanged, with Bourges Basket benefitting from 23 points by Valeriane Ayayi and a double-double of 19 points and 11 rebounds from Katherine Plouffe as they held off Saint-Amand 72-66.

ESBVA-LM locked down Mondeville 61-53 after a nice 21 points and 11 boards from Pauline Akonga Nsimbo, while Carolo Basket outpaced Nantes Reze 86-81 in an exciting match-up as Kaleena Lewis-Mosqueda dropped 26 points. BLMA were also victorious as Courtney Hurt and Suzy Batkovic shared 42 points in a crushing 86-50 success against Roche Vendee.

Wisla CANPACK crash in Poland
EuroLeague Women competitors Wisla CANPACK suffered another big loss in the Polish League as they were left stunned 78-59 at Sosnowiec as Robyn Parks shot them down with 24 points. The giants are now on 5 losses in tied second spot, but looking over their shoulders heading down the Regular Season stretch.


Wisla are tied with Sleza Wroclaw who won 72-86 at Gorzow behind a fine 19 points and 9 assists by Elina Dikeoulakou. CCC Polkowice are ready to pounce from fourth place after they destroyed Ostrovia 116-39 with a staggering nine players returning double-digits. There was also 25 points for Lithuania national team forward Monika Grigalauskyte who led Energa Torun to an 83-89 success at Basket 90 Gdynia.

Elsewhere in Europe
A UMMC Ekaterinburg side that included recent arrival Jamierra Faulkner breezed their way past Nadezhda 64-79 in Orenburg as Maya Moore stood out with 18 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists.

Isabelle Yacoubou poured in 20 points for Famila Schio in Italy as they won 62-72 at Mecannica Nova Vigarano. Second placed Reyer Venezia escaped with a 66-65 win against Passalacqua Ragusa.
