SCHIO (EuroLeague Women) - Famila Schio turned the defensive screw tight on Perfumerias Avenida to emerge with a 60-50 win and improve their Regular Season record to 5-2.

In the only game to be played on Thursday night, the revered defensive strategies of Schio head coach Pierre Vincent were fully on display and most certainly needed during the closing stages as Avenida threatened to overturn an 18-point deficit.

Importantly the Italians had enough of a cushion to get over the finishing line, thanks mainly to an eye-catching run either side of half-time that was led by Jolene Anderson, who finished with 18 points and 10 boards.

Avenida are now 4-3, but will at least be boosted by the fact that Spanish national team forward Laura Gil made her comeback from a long-term injury and new signing Kim Mestdagh now has her first game under her belt.
