Third-Place Preview: Dynamo Kursk and Yakin Dogu in SuperCup Women repeat

SOPRON (EuroLeague Women) – Dynamo Kursk and Yakin Dogu Universitesi are ready to fight it out in Sopron for Third Place in a repeat of the 2017 SuperCup Women Final.

Outlook: It's always a tough game to have to play, having missed out on the Final, but this game has extra significance for both clubs. Dynamo Kursk will want to respond to their amazing 34-game winning streak being ended, as well as getting some confidence back ahead of their Russian Premier League Finals series against UMMC. Equally, having made the Final Four in their rookie season, Yakin Dogu Universitesi need to get back on track ahead of defending their Turkish Championship title. They will also want revenge for losing to Kursk in the SuperCup Women Final at the start of the 2017-18 season.

Key Match-Up: Sandrine Gruda and Helena Ciak are national team colleagues with France and will work in tandem at the FIBA Women's Basketball World Cup 2018 in Tenerife. However, they will be going up against each other in this one as both teams look to establish themselves under the basket. Gruda was below-par against Sopron and will be determined to remind everyone of her quality.

Killer Question: Will Courtney Vandersloot be available and play for Yakin Dogu Universitesi after that finger injury which hampered her in the Semi-Final defeat to Sopron?

Trivia: Having won two EuroLeague Women titles with Perfumerias Avenida and Dynamo Kursk, this is the first Third-Place game for Lucas Mondelo.

They Say: "We were sad for the loss [in the Semi-Finals], but proud of the game that we played against UMMC. I was more proud for the defeat than for a lot of wins we had during the season. We now nneed to come back on to try and get a win in this game." Dynamo Kursk head coach, Lucas Mondelo.
