Last tickets taken for the Play-Off Round 1 as Regular Season curtain falls

MUNICH (Germany) - The curtain came down on the EuroCup Women Regular Season on Thursday night with the last 10 remaining tickets for the Play-Off Round 1 being distributed.

AZS UMCS Lublin, BCF Elfic Fribourg, Hatayspor, Kangoeroes Basket, KKZ Crvena Zvezda, Lointek Gernika, London Lions, Neve David Ramla, Nika Syktyvkar and Tenerife were the 10 rightful owners of the coveted tickets at the end of the night.

In Group A, Hatayspor went down 85-73 at Panathinaikos AC after Chastity Reed erupted for 28 points, 12 rebounds and 7 assists for the hosts. However, Hatay's despair turned to cheers as they still managed to advance as one of the best third-placed teams.


AZS UMCS Lublin secured a spot by beating Horizont 70-61 in Minsk, to move on from Group C. Kamiah Smalls starred with 30 points for Lublin.

Neve David Ramla progressed after soaring past Bellona Kayseri 89-71 in Group D. Emma Cannon registered a towering a double-double of 33 points and 12 rebounds. Alyssa Baron was also on fire with 25 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists. 

Nika Syktyvkar celebrated a historic first place beyond the Regular Season by blasting their way to an 82-47 Group F victory against Ludovika FCSM Csata. A 26-point show from Hind Ben Abdelkader led the way, along with 13 points and 15 rebounds from Alexandra Marchenkova.

BCF Elfic Fribourg needed overtime to secure their place as they beat Basket Tenerife 82-78 in a Group G thriller. Nancy Flora dropped 22 points, while Marielle Giroud led by example with 22 points and 14 rebounds. Despite the agony of such a tight loss, Tenerife still managed to move to the Play-Off Round 1.

Kangoeroes Basket Mechelen will remember their Group I meeting at Basket Namur Capitale for a long time after they wrapped up a place with a 68-58 triumph. Ziomara Morrison stood out as usual with 16 points and 9 boards on a famous night for Belgian club.

Three teams also experienced joy at taking a ticket despite not playing on the last night, in KKZ Crvena Zvezda, Lointek Gernika and London Lions.

Elsewhere, Prometey swept past Elazig Il Ozel Idare 92-52 in Group B to remind everyone of their ambitions of making a deep run. Joyner Holmes went to work as usual with 30 point and 11 boards, with Tetiana Yurkevichus amassing 11 points and 18 rebounds.

InvestInTheWest ENEA Gorzow lost their chance of progressing from Group C as they were beaten by the flawless CBK Mersin Yenisehir Bld 75-68. Tiffany Hayes tormented the Polish hosts with a stunning 36 points, 8 rebounds and 6 assists for Mersin.


Both Aluinvent DVTK Miskolc and Orman Genclik had already cemented safe passage to the next phase from Group F and it was the former who eased the latter 82-72, led by 20 points and 11 boards from Keyona Hayes.There was also an eye-bulging 34 points and 22 rebounds in defeat from Teaira McCowan.

Rutronik Stars Keltern saw their participation in the competition ending as the visiting and already qualified Zabiny Brno collected a nerve-shredding 78-77 Group K win. 

Finally in Group I, Valencia BC ended the hopes of BC Duran Maquinaria Ensino continuing in the competition as they won 60-53 against their Spanish rivals, inspired by 20 points and 7 rebounds from Bec Allen.
