Galatasaray and Mersin put one foot in Final Four; Basket Landes edge Bourges

MUNICH (Germany) - The Turkish duo of Galatasaray and CBK Mersin Yenisehir look like they could be on course for the EuroCup Women Final Four, after claiming impressive first-leg road wins on Thursday.

Galatasaray came out on fire and jumped all over KSC Szekszard, eventually riding their way to an 88-60 victory in Hungary that allows the Turkish side to take a sizable leap towards the next phase.

Kelsey Plum was unstoppable and netted a stunning 34 points, as well as claiming 6 rebounds and 6 assists. In fact, it was a powerful one-two punch by the winning team, with Tina Krajisnik excelling in the paint and registering 21 points and 15 rebounds.

In similar fashion, but over in France, CBK Mersin Yenisehir Bld also came out on top with a commanding 77-64 victory as they moved past LDLC ASVEL Feminin.

A trio of strong performances laid the foundation for Mersin, with veteran DeWanna Bonner leading the way by amassing 16 points and 8 rebounds.

British standout Temi Fagbenle continued her hot streak with a flawless 6-of-6 shooting night and her 14-point contribution came alongside guard Tiffany Hayes adding a game-high 17 points.

Meanwhile, French rivals Basket Landes and Bourges Basket were predicted to have little daylight between them in their tie and so it proved, with just one basket separating the teams after their first-leg matchup.

Basket Landes came out with a hard-fought 65-63 victory as opposing centers Marianna Tolo and Iliana Rupert top scored for their teams, with 12 and 15 points respectively.
