Walker outduels Mavunga to earn Top Performer honors

MUNICH (EuroCup Women) - Wednesday's clash between Mersin and WBC Enisey saw two of the best forwards in EuroCup Women have a go at each other, with Ashley Walker coming out on top with the W and Top Performer honors to her name.

The 31-year-old led the way in Mersin's 90-77 triumph, finishing the game with a massive double-double of 34 points and 11 rebounds, while adding 5 assists and 3 steals for an unmatched efficiency rating of 47. However, it was a bittersweet day at the office, as the win was not enough to secure passage to the Play-Offs for the Turkish side.

On the other end, Enisey will continue their European campaign in Play-Off Round 1 after securing top spot in Group D with a 4-2 record. Stephanie Mavunga has been the driving force behind the success and delivered another astonishing performance on Wednesday to join Walker on the Team of the Week. The 23-year-old stuffed the boxscore with 30 points, 16 rebounds, 3 steals and 4 blocks, good enough for an efficiency of 38.

Another regular among the Top Performers, Samantha Whitcomb, joined the party after exploding for 40 points in BLMA's 96-66 rout against VBW CEKK Cegled. The Australia international made an incredible 10 of her 14 long-range attempts, setting a new single-game record for the season and assuring her side qualified directly for the Round of 16 in unbeaten fashion.

She is joined in the backcourt by Rachael Vanderwal, as she led Lointek Gernika Bizkaia to an 84-66 win over Clube Uniao Sportiva with 17 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists. The Spanish side advanced to Play-Off Round 1 as one of the second-placed teams, as did Lyon ASVEL Feminin.

The competition newcomers cruised past Rutronik Stars Keltern, 109-63, with Clarissa Dos Santos filling the stats sheet with 23 points on 10-of-14 shooting, 11 rebounds and 4 assists to complete the Team of the Week.
