Standout guards put their stamp on Week 4, spearhead Top Performers

MUNICH (EuroCup Women) – The EuroCup Women Regular Season resumed following the FIBA Women's EuroBasket 2019 Qualifiers break, with Week 4 marked by some outstanding performances on the guard positions.

Rebekah Gardner of Orman Genclik led the way with a week-high efficiency ranking of 34, as the Turkish side recorded their third consecutive win in Group D with a narrow 62-58 triumph over Mersin BSB. The 28-year-old finished the game with 31 points, 9 rebounds and 2 assists to her name.

Fellow US guard Janeesa Jeffery was no less impressive after guiding MBK Ruzomberok to an 84-76 win against Nymburk and a 3-1 record in Group H, dropping 23 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists en route to an efficiency of 32.

Sodertalje are still in search of their first win after falling to Sparta&K M.R. Vidnoje, 70-91, but that doesn’t take away from the remarkable play of 19-year-old Klara Lundquist, who is completing the backcourt in the Top Performer lineup. Having averaged 20.3 points over the first three games, the Swedish youngster exploded for 32 points on Wednesday.

Stephanie Mavunga picked up where she left off before the break, collecting an all-action 28 points, 6 rebounds, 3 assists and 3 steals in WBC Enisey's 83-63 win over ACS Sepsi. Belgian youth standout Billie Massey is joining her under the baskets, as she recorded a highly-efficient 12-point, 14-rebound double-double to help BBC Sint-Katelijne-Waver survive an overtime thriller against Basket Landes, 76-73.
