KRAKOW (Poland) - Cukurova Basketbol illustrated why they remain a frontrunner for the EuroCup Women title after a convincing Round of 8 first-leg  triumph at Wisla CANPACK.

Still yet to taste defeat this season, the ambitious Turkish side put in a strong performance in Krakow to shut down the hosts 93-73.

As usual, it was Alina Iagupova who led the way, with the Ukraine national team standout finishing the contest with 30 points. Chelsea Gray came up with the cameo to support her team's headline act as she contributed 16 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists. 

There was no winning start in the competition for new Wisla CANPACK playcaller Wojciech Eljasz, while the loss was harsh on Spanish national team shooter Leonor Rodriguez. She excelled for the home side in defeat and harvested 21 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists.
