Basketball Nymburk still flawless despite slow start in Celje

CELJE (EuroCup Women) - Basketball Nymburk are celebrating another win after they stayed perfect by posting a 68-83 comeback success at Cinkarna Celje.

The Czech side had to wrestle the initiative firmly away from Celje either side of the interval, having trailed by as many as 17 points.

The early running was all in favor of the hosts as Celje started strongly to storm 29-12 ahead. But the response of Nymburk, who won a one-point thriller in their opener last week, was emphatic.

That was largely due to a trio of towering performances, with Aleksandra Khomenchuk recording 16 points,  9 rebounds and 4 blocks, Tereza Peckova dropping 18 points and Chloe Wells continuing her great form with a majestic 27 points, 7 assists, 7 steals and 6 boards.

"We were down by 17 points in first half; we played very bad," Wells commented after the game.

"After the conversation with our coach in the locker room we played much better in the second half. The whole team started to play as we know. Everybody started to rebound, to pass the ball and to fight for every ball. In the end, this was enough for our win."
