First time winners guaranteed for 2019 Final

MUNICH (Germany) - There will be a major slice of history served in the EuroCup Women 2019 Final after Nadezhda and BLMA secured their places in this year's title clash.

Neither have won the competition previously, so  one of them will be crowned winners for the first time. Both clubs completed doubles over their opponents in the last four, with Nadezhda the first to punch their ticket to the Final, having previously appeared back in 2010.

Already holding a six-point advantage from their road victory in Italy, they eased past Famila Schio 67-62 as Erica Wheeler did the business with 17 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists. There was also a key contribution from Anastasia Shilova who netted a super five triples.

"I think that the Semi-Finals are probably the most difficult stage, so I'm glad that we've passed it now. Our fans were simply great," enthused Spanish national team forward,  Laura Nicholls.

Her compatriot and Nadezhda playcaller, Victor Lapena added: "I want to thank our fans for such great support!
We've played a a few games in a row and we've got a really difficult schedule.

"But, I haven't got a clue where my players get their energy from. Schio had been focusing on Brionna (Jones) and trying to hold her back. However, this gave us the opportunity to shoot three-pointers - and we used it!"

Meanwhile BLMA had also been successful last week, although they only held a narrow three-point advantage from their matchup with Spar Citylift Girona.

However this time, it was much more convincing as they blew away the Spanish side 98-69 to make the Final for the first time. Ornella Bankole continued her good form to harvest 19 points, as BLMA once again showed their prowess from long-range as they dropped 13 three-pointers.

The experienced Endy Miyem was also in top form as she recorded a smart 15 points from a super 75 percent shooting effort.
