Daily highs: Shengelia leads scorers; Walkup flirts with triple-double

MUNICH (Germany) - There were seven games played across the FIBA EuroBasket 2025 Qualifiers on Friday evening, with Tornike Shengelia and Dzanan Musa among the biggest stars with outstanding individual displays in the five main categories.

Nobody topped Klemen Prepelic's 30-point outburst, which remains the highest scoring mark of the FIBA EuroBasket 2025 Qualifiers so far, but there were new marks set in other categories.

Tornike Shengelia was the top scorer of the day with 27 points for Georgia, but he wasn't able to prevent the defeat in Denmark. Dzanan Musa had 26 points and could've easily gone over 30, but there was no need to force heavy minutes in Bosnia and Herzegovina's comfortable 33-point win over Cyprus. North Macedonia's Nenad Dimitrijevic was right next to them with 25 points in a defeat to Estonia.

The rebounding part belonged to Darral Willis from Cyprus, as he pulled down 13 boards, the most on the day. Kenan Kamenjas (BIH), Ethan Happ (MKD) and Ondrej Balvin (CZE) were the only other men in double digits in rebounding, all with 10 to their names.

Great Britain edged out the Netherlands 98-94 in Newcastle, led by Luke Nelson's elite playmaking. He was the only player in double digits in assists on the day, dishing out 12 assists, three more than Keye van der Vuurst de Vries had for Oranje in the same game. Musa and Edin Atic combined equally for 16 assists for BIH.

Thomas Walkup also had 8 assists for Greece, but he was the daily leader in another stat. He picked up 5 steals against Czechia, the same amount as Luuk van Bree for the Netherlands against Team GB. Mario Hezonja (CRO), Aleksa Avramovic (SRB), Myles Hesson (GBR) and Ethan Happ (MKD) all had 4 steals.

Happ had a debut to remember for North Macedonia, not just because of his 10 rebounds and 4 steals, but also because of his 4 blocks. Nobody other had more than 2 blocks.
