Avdija returns to boost Israel's preliminary squad for EuroBasket
TEL AVIV (Israel) - Israel have confirmed a preliminary roster of 18 players as they step up their preparations for FIBA EuroBasket 2022.
Talented 21-year-old Deni Avdija is set to make a debut at the flagship tournament with his return to the national team lineup boosting their hopes of an improved display after finishing in 21st place on home soil five years ago.

Yam Madar adds to the young talent amongst the squad with Noam Dovrat included after an impressive campaign in the recently concluded FIBA U20 European Championship, while there is also a familiar core to add vital experience for Israel.

Israel's EuroBasket campaign will begin in Prague as they take on the Group D hosts Czech Republic as well as Serbia, Poland, Finland and Netherlands from September 2-8, 2022.
Their first focus will be on the upcoming FIBA Basketball World Cup 2023 European Qualifiers as Israel commences the Second Round with encounters with Finland and Sweden.
