FIBA EuroBasket 2017 Qualifiers tip off Wednesday night

MUNICH (FIBA EuroBasket 2017 Qualifiers) - Exactly one year out from Europe's premier basketball event, 27 teams begin their quest to earn one of 11 remaining tickets to FIBA EuroBasket 2017.

With 13 of the teams already known for next year’s Final Round in Cluj-Napoca, Helsinki, Istanbul and Tel-Aviv, 11 spots still remain available via the FIBA EuroBasket 2017 Qualifiers.

The 27 teams have been divided into seven (7) groups - six (6) of them consisting of four (4) teams and the other made up of three (3) teams. The action will be played in a round robin format (each team faces the others in its group), both home and away away across six game days, played out every Wednesday and Saturday between 31 August and 17 September.

The already qualified teams are host nations Finland, Israel, Romania and Turkey; Rio 2016 teams Croatia, France, Lithuania, Serbia and Spain; and FIBA Olympic Qualifying Tournament participants Czech Republic, Greece, Italy and Latvia.
