    Israel to face Turkey, Slovenia and Russia in build-up to FIBA EuroBasket 2017

    TEL AVIV (FIBA EuroBasket 2017) – Co-hosts Israel have finalized their roadmap to FIBA EuroBasket 2017, with games on home soil in Tel Aviv highlighting their preparation calendar.

    TEL AVIV (FIBA EuroBasket 2017) – Co-hosts Israel have finalized their roadmap to FIBA EuroBasket 2017, with games on home soil in Tel Aviv highlighting their preparation calendar.

    The Israeli national team will officially gather on July 18 for training camp, with the first games scheduled 10 days later when the team will travel to Bucharest to face Romania for two test games.

    The next destination will be St. Petersburg where Israel will play against Russia and another EuroBasket co-host, Finland. From there the team will travel to Hungary to face the local national team for one game.

    From August 17-20, Israel will host Turkey and Slovenia for a three-tournament in Tel Aviv Arena. The team will follow this up with participation in a tournament in Poland, facing Hungary, Great Britain and their Polish hosts for a final test before returning to Tel Aviv on August 28.

    The Israelis will start their FIBA EuroBasket campaign against Italy in Group B, where they will also face Germany, Georgia, Lithuania and Ukraine.

    FIBA EuroBasket 2017 is set to tip-off on August 31 and will be co-hosted by Finland, Israel, Romania and Turkey, with the Final Phase to take place in Istanbul.
