Finland ticket sales pass the 50,000 mark

HELSINKI (FIBA EuroBasket 2017) - FIBA EuroBasket 2017 fever is alive and well in Helsinki, with over 50,000 tickets sold of their Group Phase groups with still more than four months to go until tip-off.

HELSINKI (FIBA EuroBasket 2017) - FIBA EuroBasket 2017 fever is alive and well in Helsinki, with over 50,000 tickets sold of their Group Phase groups with still more than four months to go until tip-off.

The strong ticket sales appear to be in accordance with Finland's passion for their national team, as evidenced by the hoards of fans taking to the road to support their team in Slovenia in 2013, Spain in 2014 and France in 2015.

With tickets being sold in sessions, as expected sales have been particularly strong for the later sessions, which always feature the games of Finland.

Finland's game against Slovenia on September 2 is closest to selling out, with 90% of tickets already snapped up. In addition, all category 4 tickets for Finland games have been sold, with only a limited number of category 3 tickets remaining.

"Finnish basketball fans have yet again proved their greatness as well as the meaning of basketball in Finnish sports," rejoiced Local Organizing Committee Director, Ari Tammivaara.
