Greece, Germany and Czech Republic, the first Europeans to clinch #FBWC 2019 spots

TBILISI/LEIPZIG/SARAJEVO (FIBA Basketball World Cup 2019 Qualifiers) - Greece, Germany and Czech Republic on Sunday became the first European teams to qualify for the FIBA Basketball World Cup 2019 in China after all grabbing thrilling victories on Gameday 2 of Second Round action in the European Qualifiers.

Greece and Germany both clinched qualification for FIBA's flagship competition by improving to 8-0 records in Group L with Greece beating Georgia 86-85 and Germany defeating Israel 112-98 in overtime. The Czechs held off Bosnia and Herzegovina 85-80 to move to 7-1 in Group K and qualify for the World Cup for the first time.

The three teams are all assured of finishing in the top three places of their respective groups.

There are nine more spots up for grabs in the European Qualifiers, with the continent delegating a total of 12 national teams to the first ever 32-team World Cup. The top three teams from Groups I, J, K and L will advance to China 2019.

Greece, Germany and Czech Republic join the African pair of Nigeria and Tunisia - who secured their places on Sunday - as the qualified teams so far, joining hosts China.
