Teodosic, Bjelica and Marjanovic in frame for Serbia's third window games

BELGRADE (FIBA Basketball World Cup 2019 European Qualifiers) - Serbia have included Milos Teodosic, Nemanja Bjelica and Boban Marjanovic on an expanded squad of 25 players for their games in the third window of the FIBA Basketball World Cup 2019 European Qualifiers.

Teodosic had been a linchpin in the national team since FIBA EuroBasket 2009 before missing last year's FIBA EuroBasket because of injury. Bjelica was also a regular but various knocks kept him off the team the past couple of summers. Bjelica (Minnesota Timberwolves), Teodosic and Marjanovic (both Los Angeles Clippers) had NBA commitments and missed the first two windows of the Qualifiers.

The No. 4 side in the FIBA World Ranking Men, Presented By Nike, Serbia (3-1) are second in Group G behind Germany (4-0) with a spot in the Second Round assured. They will play at Georgia (1-3) on June 29 and then host Germany in Novi Sad on July 2.

Germany beat Serbia in the last window in Frankfurt, 79-74.

Miroslav Raduljica, Marko Simonovic and Stevan Jelovac are more senior players on the list that have already featured in the Qualifiers and done well. Raduljica was particular good in the November window when Serbia beat Georgia.

Nikola Jokic, who is blossoming into one of the top centers in the NBA with the Denver Nuggets, and Sacramento Kings guard Bogdan Bogdanovic are not on the list. The latter is recovering from injury.

Among those that have jumped into the spotlight thanks to the Qualifiers is Aleksa Avramovic. The guard drilled the game-winning shot at Austria in Serbia's last game and is not surprisingly in the expanded squad.

If Marjanovic plays, Serbia will have their giant in the paint who is almost unstoppable at times. The big pivot performed well last year when Serbia reached the Final of the FIBA EuroBasket 2017 in Istanbul.
