Haddadi, Oh, El Khatib, Jamshidi and Ili make up first ever FIBA Asia Cup All-Star Five


BEIRUT (FIBA Asia Cup 2017) - Top performers Hamed Haddadi, Fadi El Khatib, Oh SeKeun, Mohammad Jamshidi and Shea Ili were all named to the FIBA Asia Cup 2017 All-Star Five.

By virtue of being named first ever MVP of the new FIBA Asia Cup, Haddadi was a shoo-in for the All-Star Five, which was offered by Tissot. He put up 16.2 points, 10.8 rebounds. 6.5 assists and 1.8 blocks per game and recorded 18 points and 7 boards in the Final against eventual champions Australia.

The 38-year-old El Khatib played his final national team game today, dropping 30 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists on China as Lebanon finished sixth overall. In seven games, the Lebanese Tiger averaged 25.9 points, 5.9 rebounds, 4.6 assists and 1.3 triples per contest. It was an amazing way to bow out for the 1.98m wingman, who will now enter retirement.

Veteran big man SeKeun tallied 16.0 points, 5.7 rebounds and 1.6 steals per game while shooting 62.3% from the field as Korea finished in third place. The 24-year-old Ili was the Tall Blacks' best player here, averaging 15.4 points, 5.8 assists and 1.0 steal per game, though he missed out on their final assignment against the Koreans. Jamshidi, for his part, played a huge role in carrying Iran into the Final. He put up 16.0 points, 3.7 rebounds, 4.8 assists, 1.5 steals and 2.8 triples per game in a scintillating showcase of skill and versatility.
