San Salvador, El Salvador to host the Centrobasket Women's Championship 2021

MIAMI (United States) - The Salvadoran Basketball Federation (Fesabal) secured the city of San Salvador as host of the Centrobasket Women's Championship 2021, from March 24-28 in the Gimnasio José Adolfo Pineda.

The Centrobasket Women's Championship 2021 will feature:
Costa Rica
Cuba
Dominican Republic
El Salvador
Puerto Rico
U.S. Virgin Islands

Built between 1950 and 1956, named after basketball player José Adolfo Pineda -who led the national team to win the gold in the VIII Juegos Centroamericanos y del Caribe in 1959-, the emblematic National Arena in San Salvador is renewed, with a new basketball court surface since January 2021, ready to receive national and international events.

"We are happy because we have made an investment in record time. Now we have a renewed court, with the official FIBA’s size and the new identity of the INDES," said Yamil Bukele, President of the Salvadoran Basketball Federation and President of the National Sports Institute of El Salvador (INDES).

The top four teams from the Centrobasket Women’s Championship 2021 will qualify to the FIBA Women’s AmeriCup 2021.
