HERMOSILLO (FIBA U16 Americas Championship 2019) – The Dominican Republic claimed the title of the Centrobasket U15 Championship 2018 after finishing the championship unbeaten. Jean Montero was selected the MVP of the event after averaging 25.8 points, 8.0 rebounds and 5.0 assists. 

The Dominicans defeated Panama 88-72 on the last day of the championship to secure the title win. Meanwhile, the host defeated Puerto Rico 58-53 to claim the silver medal of the championship. Puerto Rico took home the bronze.

The Dominican Republic, Mexico and Puerto Rico completed the field of teams for the FIBA U16 Americas Championship 2019 after joining Argentina, Brazil, Canada, Uruguay and USA at the continental championship.
