    PANAMA CITY (2016 Centrobasket) - The draw for the 2016 Centrobasket Championship for Men will take place on Tuesday, March 29 in Panama City, Panama.

    The 24th edition of the Centrobasket Championship is set to be played in the Roberto Duran Arena in Panama City on June 20-26. This will be the third edition of the competition played in the city (1977 and 2006) since the tournament’s inception in 1965.

    The Cenrobasket Championship brings together the best teams from the Central American and Caribbean (CONCENCABA) sub-zone.

    The 10 teams that will compete in the tournament are: Antigua, Bahamas, Costa Rica, Cuba, Dominican Republic, Mexico, Nicaragua, Puerto Rico, Virgin Islands and host Panama.

    The championship will qualify the top five teams to the 2017 FIBA Americup and automatically grant them a spot in Division A of the FIBA new competition system set to tip-off in 2017.

    The draw, which will see the teams divided into two groups of five teams each, takes place tomorrow Tuesday, March 29 in the Hotel Panama in Panama City at 11am local/GMT -04:00 time and will be broadcasted on youtube.com/fiba.
