BCL Americas Top Performers from Group Stage 1

MIAMI (United States) – Franca, Quimsa and Real Estelí finished the first Group Stage of the Basketball Champions League Americas undefeated, while Boca Jrs ended with a 1-1 record, but with a promising start of Season 5.

Several players stepped up and took leadership of their respective teams and had outstanding performances. These were top players of this stage.

Lucas Dias - Franca (BRA)

PTS: 18.5 | 3P: 57% | REB: 10.5 | AST: 2.5 | BLK: 1.5 | EFF: 24.0

Dias has a lot of experience leading Franca's team and in this campaign, with the departure of several figures who helped in their three titles last year (national, continental and intercontinental league), the power forward had to assume more responsibilities and he more than succeeded.

Juan Brussino - Quimsa (ARG)

PTS: 16.5 | 3P: 75% | REB: 4.5 | AST: 5.5 | STL: 2.0 | EFF: 24.0

The point guard showed great effectiveness in offense and making plays on the court. In their victory against Nacional, due to Brandon Robinson’s injury, Brussino had to take charge of the team and contributed on both sides of the court: 23 points, 6 rebounds, 5 assists and 2 ball recoveries.

Franco Giorgetti - Nacional (URU)

PTS: 14.0 | FG: 50% | REB: 9.0 | STL: 1.5 | BLQ: 2.5 | EFF: 24.0

The Argentine reinforcement of the Uruguayan club brought out his skill and had a couple of very well-rounded performances. The 31-year-old small forward had an 18 point, 11 rebound double-double in the victory against São Paulo and was the absolute leader in blocks in this first round of games with an average of 2.5.

Emmitt Williams - Real Estelí (NCA)

PTS: 16.5 | FG: 63% | REB: 7.0 | AST: 3.0 | EFF: 22.5

Williams was decisive in the “Tren del Norte’s” victory against Halcones de Xalapa with 23 points and went 9 of 11 from the field. He also gave the Nicaraguan fans at the Alexis Argüello Polideportivo a show with spectacular dunks and blocks.

Jordan Williams - Hebraica Macabi (URU)

PTS: 18.5 | 3P: 47% | REB: 6.0 | AST: 2.0 | BLK: 1.5 | EFF: 20.5

He scored 22 points and made 4 triples in 8 attempts against Boca Jrs, but the most important thing was his performance in clutch moments which allowed his team to build a good enough lead to eventually achieve their first ever tournament victory.
