Duel of candidates

BUENOS AIRES (Argentina) - You cannot miss the BCL Americas' third day. It will have two very attractive matches, two duels between potential candidates for this second edition's title. They all won their first match and will seek another victory in their group: San Lorenzo and Franca in Group C, and Quimsa-Sao Paulo in Group B.

San Lorenzo and Franca are ready to go all the way. Both showed good collective game in their debuts and defeated Obras Sanitarias, Zone C's other team. The "Ciclón" won't have Nicolás Romano, who tested positive for Covid. For their part, Franca has a short rotation, but it has its players' experience and trajectory to pull it off.

Both teams beat Obras (San Lorenzo 86-81, and Franca 93-88) and they want to finish the first window as undefeated leaders of their Group.

Day: 2/2. Local time: 8.10pm. TV: DIRECTV Sports and DAZN.
Referees: Andrés Gastón Bartel Maina (Uruguay), Carlos Andrés Peralta Ortega (Ecuador) and Gonzalo Salgueiro Martí (Uruguay).

The day's second course is also a duel between Argentines and Brazilians. On one hand, there's Quimsa, the last champion, and on the other, there's Sao Paulo. They both beat Universidad de Concepción from Chile and they will strive for another victory which would give them a 2-0 record.

"La Fusión" will have all its players and, apart from seeking a win against Franca, it's also getting ready to play the Intercontinental Cup on 2/6 against San Pablo Burgos, from Spain, winner of the Basketball Champions League. Sao Paulo wants to continue on the path it's currently following in the NBB (Novo Basquete Brasil – Brazil’s national basketball league), where it's in the third place.
