Caballos and Titanes go all or nothing

PANAMA (Panama) - Real Estelí’s great victory, 81-72, against Titanes, cleared the uncertainty regarding Group A’s first place. The Nicaraguan team’s already qualified for the next phase, but now we’ll have an amazing match for the second place. Yes, Caballos and Titanes will go all or nothing.

Day: 3/29. Local time: 6:10pm. TV: DIRECTV Sports and DAZN.
Referees: Cristiano Maranho (Brazil), Fabricio Vito (Argentina) and Roberto Emilio Mota Inoa (Dominican Republic).
Stadium: Arena Roberto Durán, Panama.

Caballos has just lost a very tight match against Estelí and it needs to bounce back quickly in order to be among the best eight teams of this BCL Americas. Flor Meléndez’s team trusts in its players’ experience to defeat Titanes at home and qualify. Their best one in the defeat against the Nicaraguans was, once again, Ernesto Oglivie, who had 16 points and 8 rebounds.

Titanes, in turn, needs to leave behind the loss against David Rosario’s team, and strive for a heroic victory as visitors. Also, it will need Jonathan Rodríguez back on his best level, since he didn’t have a good night against Estelí, but he was key in Titanes’ road towards this match. “We’re all aware of how important this match is, and each time we set foot on the court, we give our best,” said Gianluca Bacci before the match.

The closest history favors Caballos de Coclé, since both matches in Group A went to the Panamanian team: on 2/4 in Managua (74-67) and on 3/4 in Barranquilla (80-79). Who will win tonight?
