A key match for Group D's future

CORDOBA (Argentina) – The third and phase of the BCL Americas' Group D started with the triumph of Minas Tenis over Instituto 88-80, and it left everything open for the next stages. This Thursday will have a Brazilian match between Minas and Flamengo, who will seek to seal its ticket to the tournament's next round.

Day: 3/25. Local time: 7:10pm. TV: DIRECTV Sports and DAZN.
Referees: Roberto Vázquez (Puerto Rico), Diego Chiconato (Brazil) and Danilo Ariel Molina (Argentina).
Stadium: Ángel Sandrín, Córdoba, Argentina.

Gustavo de Conti's team have a very important absence, since Franco Balbi tore his right knee ACL and will therefore miss the rest of the season. In his place, they have another Argentine point guard, Diego Figueredo, who played for "La Unión de Formosa". The "Mengao" is one of the undefeated teams of the tournament, and it knows that, if it wins this match, it will be in the Final 8, even though it still has to play twice against Instituto (this Friday in Córdoba, and the pending match from Window 1).

Minas, on the other hand, is a bit more relaxed after defeating Instituto in a match where Luciano Parodi shone, with 21 points and 7 assists, and a good backing from the 28 points scored by Shaquille Johnson and David Nesbitt. This match will be the last of this first phase for Leonardo Costa's team, and if they win, they know it will be very difficult not to qualify, since they also have a good point difference.

The third window will close this Friday at 7:10pm, with the match between Instituto and Flamengo, also at Ángel Sandrín Stadium, in Córdoba.
