Franca will play the next BCLA

The Brazilian team won the Super 8 of their country and qualified to play the next edition of the top continental contest.

The power of Franca was demonstrated once again. The team of Helio Rubens beat Flamengo 77-73 and won the Brazilian Super 8 in the Carioca Arena in Rio de Janeiro, so they qualified automatically for the next edition of the Basketball Champions League Americas, in the 2020/21 season.

The game was very hard, even with a good passage in favour of Flamengo. But Franca reacted in the last quarter (the partial won it 21-10) and took it to keep the title.

His great figure was Rafael Hettsheimeir, who contributed 28 points and 7 rebounds, taking the MVP prize of the final. In addition, Lucas Dias (19 points) and Luciano Parodi (10) were important. In Flamengo they did not reach 33 points that combined between Demetrio (17) and Marquinhos (16).

Since 1999 that Franca did not win a national tournament when it was Marathon/Franca. Actually in that team played Helinho, the current coach.

Franca has an ideal moment because he is in the playoffs of the Brazilian league (he was second in the regular season), he was Super 8 champion and in addition to getting into the next BCLA, in the current edition he waits for San Lorenzo at the crossing of quarterfinals. The series will begin on the 14th of this month in Brazil, and then it will move to Buenos Aires for the second and third game (if necessary).
