In Chihuahua, a lot was at stake between well-known rivals Capitanes and Fuerza Regia. The host established a good game and won its first game of the Basketball Champions League Americas 97-93.

The defeat against Real Estelí in its debut made everyone think that the team coached by Jorge Valverde would come out in search of a victory that would give them balance in Group D, and that occurred. Fuerza Regia had an excellent first quarter, almost touching perfection and turned the game in their favor, making it clear that the team will fight to qualify for the next phase of the BCLA. In that first period, Fuerza Regia scored 35 points, with 7-10 in three-pointers and betting on counterattack as the main weapon.

Capitanes reacted, and led offensively by Jorge Gutierrez and Grandy Glaze, the team turned the scoreboard around and celebrated the important victory.

Capitanes will play the next two games as visitors, while Fuerza Regia will try to show another side of its game during the next window when they travel to Nicaragua to face Real Esteli.
