BEIRUT (Lebanon) - Window 5 of the FIBA Basketball World Cup 2023 Asian Qualifiers will be taking place soon and as we’re getting closer to the final turn, there are less and less qualification spots left for grabs.
New Zealand and Lebanon already took the advantage in Window 4 to book their tickets to the main event next year, leaving only 4 more seats to fill in these last two windows.
Which of the remaining teams do you think will secure World Cup qualification?
There’s only one spot left in Group E, which means the pressure is on Saudi Arabia (1 win) and India (0 wins). There’s a safety cushion for Jordan who have three wins, but as we’ve learned through the year of watching FIBA basketball: do not leave your fate in the hands of other teams.

It’s going to be a wild finish in Group F as none of the teams have officially qualified just yet. Australia are in a great position to punch their ticket this window with their undefeated record, but there’s plenty of work left to do for the remaining teams.
China, Kazakhstan, and Iran are tangled in a web of 5-6 wins and it’s highly likely that one of these teams will end up not making it to the World Cup. That will certainly be a tough pill for any team that fails to make it, considering how well they’ve all played so far in the Qualifiers.
