SEOUL (Korea) - The Korea Basketball Association (KBA) have announced a 14-player roster ahead of their first appearance in the FIBA Basketball World Cup 2023 Asian Qualifiers this February.

While the line-up at the FIBA Asia Cup 2021 Qualifiers featured some younger prospects for Korea, the roster here for the Asian Qualifiers shifts back to being a bit more veteran heavy with the stakes of World Cup qualification on the line.

Mainstays from the Asia Cup Qualifiers such as Lee SeoungHyun, Jeon SeoungHyen, Yang HongSeok, Ra GunA, and Lee DaeSung are all coming back for national team duties. However, the spotlight will be shined on the return of Kim JongKyu, Heo Hoon, Heo Ung, and Kim SunHyung.

These national team stars have had their moments in previous competitions and will now have the opportunity to add on to their list of accomplishments here as Korea officially start their quest towards qualifying for the World Cup in 2023.

Korea will need their A-level stars to bring their A-level games as they have a tough schedule ahead. The main highlights of their games in the upcoming second window are matchups against the Philippines both on February 24 and 28, serving as an opportunity for revenge after Gilas handed Korea two straight losses last year in the Asia Cup Qualifiers.

Moreover, Korea’s other game against New Zealand on February 25 won’t be any easier. The two teams were also grouped together in the previous World Cup Qualifiers, splitting wins amongst each other with narrow margins of victory.

The other game in their four-game window will be a clash against India on February 27.

All of the games in Group B of the Asian Qualifiers for this second window will be played in Manila, Philippines at the Smart Araneta Coliseum in a "bubble" format in order to ensure the health and safety of all participants
