FIBA welcomes participants and guests to Shenzhen ahead of Saturday's World Cup Draw

SHENZHEN (China) - On the eve of the FIBA Basketball World Cup 2019 Draw, presented by Wanda, FIBA welcomed all participants and guests at a gala dinner followed by a light show of the city's skyline.

FIBA President Horacio Muratore and FIBA Secretary General Andreas Zagklis were joined by representatives of the 32 national teams, who will find out their fates in Saturday's draw; dignitaries from right across the FIBA Family; officials from the China 2019 Local Organizing Committee (LOC) and the eight host cities. They were joined by a pair of World Cup ambassadors in Yao Ming and Kobe Bryant.

Following the dinner, the participants and guests got to take in the amazing sight of Shenzhen's skyline being lit up in the colors of the FIBA Basketball World Cup.

On Saturday, it will be down to business as the 32 teams find out who their opponents will be, in which groups and which cities they will play, in their quest to be crowned world champions on September 15.

The draw will be live on FIBA's YouTube channel at 18:30 local time (GMT +8).
