60-team lineup complete for Second Round of FIBA Basketball World Cup 2019 Qualifiers

MIES (FIBA Basketball World Cup 2019) - All 60 teams that will compete in the Second Round of the FIBA Basketball World Cup 2019 Qualifiers are known after the First Round drew to a close on Monday.

All results from all games in the First Round - including those against teams that were eliminated - carry over to the Second Round.

Here is how the Second Round shapes up:

The three (3) highest-placed teams from each group and the best 4th-placed team (total of seven (7) teams) shall qualify for the FIBA Basketball World Cup 2019. For the FIBA Basketball World Cup 2019 Qualifiers, to determine the final standings, the FIBA Basketball World Cup 2019 Host, China, shall not be included. However all results related to the previous games of China in the relevant group shall be taken into account for the final standings. Click here for more information.

Teams that were eliminated in the First Round will next play in the FIBA Asia Cup 2021 Qualifiers starting in November 2019.

Teams that were eliminated in the First Round will now play FIBA EuroBasket 2021 Pre-Qualifiers in September 2018.

In the third window, 37 teams progressed to the Second Round. They are: Angola, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Cameroon, Central African Republic (CAF), Chad, Chile, Cote d'Ivoire, Croatia, Czech Republic, Egypt, Estonia, Finland, Georgia, Hungary, Israel, Japan, Korea, Latvia, Mali, Montenegro, Morocco, Netherlands, Nigeria, Panama, Poland, Puerto Rico, Qatar, Russia, Rwanda, Senegal, Slovenia, Syria, Tunisia, Turkey, Ukraine and Virgin Islands.

In February, Argentina, Australia, Brazil, Canada, China, Dominican Republic, France, Germany, Greece, Iran, Italy, Jordan, Kazakhstan, Lebanon, Lithuania, Mexico, New Zealand, Philippines, Serbia, Spain, Venezuela, Uruguay and USA were the first 23 teams to clinch their places in the Second Round of the Qualifiers for China 2019.

The Second Round of the FIBA Basketball World Cup 2019 Qualifiers will consist of three windows taking place in September and November 2018 and February 2019.

The 31 best teams will join host China at the first-ever 32-team FIBA Basketball World Cup, taking place from August 31-September 15, 2019.
