Spain to host World Cup Qualifier against Montenegro in Zaragoza
ZARAGOZA (FIBA Basketball World Cup 2019 European Qualifiers) - Spain are returning to the friendly confines of Zaragoza to stage their World Cup Qualifier against Montenegro.
The country's basketball federation (FEB) made the announcement on Wednesday, with the game set to be played on February 26. Spain's first game in the February window will be against Belarus in Minsk on February 23.
The last game that Spain played in Zaragoza was in 2016 against Cote d'Ivoire. In their final warm-up for the Rio de Janeiro Games, Spain prevailed against the African country, 100-61.

FEB President and Spain great Jorge Garbajosa said: "This agreement will allow the city of Zaragoza to host a game of the Spanish national team. Zaragoza and the national team have been united for many years and to return to the Principe Felipe (Arena) is a guarantee of success. With the Zaragoza fans, we feel right at home."
In November, Spain beat Montenegro, 79-66, in Podgorica in their first Qualifier and then hosted Slovenia in Burgos and improved to 2-0 with a 92-84 triumph.
Tecnyconta Zaragoza is a team that plays in Spain's top flight, the Liga Endesa. The city also has a leading women's side, Mann Filter.
The city is getting a strong dose of big-time basketball because this weekend, Zaragoza will stage the Copa de la Reina with Mann Filter among the sides taking part.
