Latvia name 24-player squad for World Cup Qualifiers
RIGA (FIBA Basketball World Cup 2019 European Qualifiers) - The newly-appointed Latvia head coach Arnis Vecvagars named an extended 24-player squad for the FIBA Basketball World Cup 2019 European Qualifiers.

"As the windows for the national teams are very short, there will be little time to experiment and test the players, so we will choose 12-15 players for the games," the coach said.
"Several names on the list are more of a signal of what we hope for them in the future. However, plans could change to adjust for injuries and other situations that may arise."

The national team will gather for the first training in Riga on November 20 and will depart to Turkey a couple of days later.
Latvia will their first game of the European Qualifiers against the Turkish national team on the road in Bursa on November 24 before hosting Sweden at home in Riga on November 26.
