Tickets sold-out for Puerto Rico vs Uruguay in less than 24 hours

SAN JUAN (FIBA Basketball World Cup 2019 Americas Qualifiers) – Puerto Rican Basketball fans have come out in big numbers to support their National Team during the FIBA Basketball World Cup 2019 Americas Qualifiers, and they will do so once again when the Boricuas face Uruguay with the World Cup qualification on the line.

Tickets for the February 25 game between Puerto Rico and Uruguay at the historic Coliseo Roberto Clemente in San Juan sold out in less than 24 hours.

“We are extremely pleased and grateful to the fans of Puerto Rico for their continued support to our National Team. The fans know that they will be a key piece to get that ticket to the FIBA Basketball World Cup 2019 in China. We hope that they go to the game with all the energy in the world to support our team. This shows that basketball is the number one sport in Puerto Rico," said the President of the Basketball Federation of Puerto Rico Yum Ramos.

During their first encounter in the Americas Qualifiers to the FIBA Basketball World Cup 2019, the Uruguayans celebrated a narrow 64-62 win over the Boricuas at the newly inaugurated Antel Arena of Montevideo.

The teams will enter the February window of the Americas Qualifiers with a 6-4 record and their encounter at Puerto Rico will define who gets a World Cup ticket.

Prior to their encounter, the Boricuas will host Argentina on February 22 and the Uruguayans will travel to Mexico to face the Mexican National Team.
