Puerto Rico to play Mexico in sold-out Coliseo Roberto Clemente

SAN JUAN (FIBA Basketball World Cup 2019 Americas Qualifiers) – Puerto Rico has two crucial games coming up in the third window of the FIBA Basketball World Cup 2019 Americas Qualifiers and tickets for Puerto Rico-Mexico have sold out.

More than 9 thousand tickets sold for the contest bodes well for the “12 Magnificos”, whose two games in the third window are extremely critical for them to continue their path to Road to China 2019.

The game will be held at the historical Coliseo Roberto Clemente, known also as the “Cathedral of Basketball”, the stadium has hosted the FIBA Basketball World Cup, the FIBA AmeriCup as well as a number of youth competitions.

Puerto Rico currently holds the second position of Group C with a 2-2 record, and will host Cuba and Mexico during the third window of the Qualifiers. The Boricuas already celebrated wins over the teams during the first two windows of the Qualifiers.

Puerto Rico and Mexico have announced their preliminary list for the third window, and both pools feature players that have not participated in the previous windows. JJ Barea is expected to lead the Boricuas in the two-important match-ups, while Gustavo Ayon will make his presence felt for the Mexicans.
