Led by Leandrinho, Brazil start training for Qualifiers clashes against Colombia and Chile

Goiania (FIBA Basketball World Cup 2019 Americas Qualifiers) - Brazil began their training in Goiania on Monday ahead of the second window of the World Cup Qualifiers.

Coach Aleksandar Petrović will have a top-of-the-line squad, featuring veterans Leandrinho Barbosa and Anderson Varejão. The pair last played together at the FIBA Basketball World Cup in 2014 in Spain, where they were eliminated in the Quarter-Finals after losing to Serbia.

"I'm very happy to count on Leandrinho once again. He and Varejão may help us very much. We hope to have two good games and to continue to do well in the collective game," Petrović said to the Brazilian Basketball Confederation (CBB) website

Barbosa is focused on ensuring his team remains undefeated.

"We hope to play two good games and get two victories to keep Brazil in the first places of the group," he said.

Brazil will play both games at Goiania Arena, where it will welcome Colombia on February 22 and Chile on February 25.
