Players build up to mark 100 days left before FIBA Asia Cup 2021 with dazzling dribbling skills

BEIRUT (Lebanon) - As the calendar turned to Sunday May 9, there will now be 100 days to go to the start of FIBA Asia Cup 2021 which will be held in Jakarta, Indonesia. Players from many different teams from the potential Asia Cup teams virtually came together to help celebrate this important milestone leading up to Asia’s premier basketball event.

In celebration of the number of days left before Asia Cup 2021, FIBA Executive Director Asia, Mr. Hagop Khajirian, passed the ball on to the featured stars and promising prospects of Asia Cup contending teams to compile a total of 100 dribbles. From Asia Cup champions like Mohammad Jamshidi (Iran) to international stars like Ra GunA (Korea), Yuki Togashi (Japan), and Kiefer Ravena (PHI), the players showed off their dribbling and passing skills.

The final pass was dished off from Indonesia’s Arighi Muhammad to IOC and FIBA Central Board member Erick Thohir who received the assist.

"Indonesia is ready," he said after receiving the pass. "See you in 100 days."

Earlier on April 13, the logo for Asia Cup 2021 was revealed. Upcoming milestones on the road to Asia Cup 2021 includes the final Window of the Qualifiers, which will be held from June 12-20 in the Philippines and Jordan, and the Qualifying Tournament for third-ranked teams of the six Groups that will take place between 12 and 14 August 2021, in Jakarta.

Khajirian said: "Today we reach yet another important milestone following the FIBA Asia Cup 2021 logo reveal. I’m sure basketball fans in the region will be counting the days until the event tips-off, and they will show their support for their National Teams and heroes."

"I want to thank our National Member Federations, Players, the FIBA Asia Cup 2021 LOC, and all those who contributed in celebrating this key milestone," he added.

FIBA Asia Cup 2021 will be held in Jakarta, Indonesia from August 17-29, 2021.

Indonesia will be hosting this prestigious event for a second time after serving as the venue of the competition back in 1993.
