How to qualify

 

A Total of Twelve Teams (12) will participate at the FIBA Asia Cup 2021 Pre-Qualifiers in September 2018.

Where and How will the Eight Teams Qualify?


GBA Pre-Qualifier
The Gulf Region will play two tournaments in February and June 2018. The results of the February tournament will be carried to the second round tournament, which will be played n June. The Top Two (2) teams will advance to the FIBA Asia Cup 2021 Pre-Qualifiers.
The teams are: Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, Oman, United Arab Emirates

SEABA Pre-Qualifier
A total of six teams will play a five day tournament in June. The Top four (4) will advance to the FIBA Asia Cup 2021 Pre-Qualifiers.
The teams are: Cambodia, Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand, Brunei

SABA Pre-Qualifier
Five Teams will play a round-robin tournament in June. The Top two (2) will advance to the FIBA Asia Cup 2021 Pre-Qualifiers.
The Teams are: Bangladesh, Maldives, Sri Lanka, Bhutan, Nepal

The Eight (8) Qualified teams from Gulf, SEABA and SABA will join Macau (East Asia), Palestine (West Asia), Fiji and Guam (Oceania).
