New-Look Pelita Jaya will get chance at redemption and qualification in Thailand

NONTHABURI (FIBA Asia Champions Cup 2018 Inter-Subzone Qualifications) -  After qualifying to the FIBA Asia Championship Cup 2018 East Inter Sub-Zone Qualifications with a star-studded line up of National Team players and two imports, Pelita Jaya has now shifted their approach looking to build towards the future.

Only Juan Laurent Kokodiputra remains in the roster from the previous round of competition. Pelita Jaya now has loaded their team with relatively younger studs like Hardianus Lakudu, Respati Ragil Pamungkas, Avan Seputra, and Daniel Wenas.

They might also be giving some U18 National Team players some burn leading up to their upcoming FIBA U18 Asian Championship tournament, also held in Thailand. Promising prospects like Aldy Izzatur Rachman and Kelvin Sanjaya.

Earlier in May, Pelita Jaya lost to the Mono Vampire Basketball Club in the previous qualification round of the FIBA Asia Championship. However, their second place finish was just enough to qualify the team to this round of competition: the FIBA Asia Champions Cup East Inter-Subzone Qualification to be held in Nonthaburi, Thailand from July 30 to August 1.

Though they will be fielding a very different team, Pelita Jaya will be getting a rematch against Mono Vampire Basketball Club (THA). Not only wll they be playing against the Thai champions, they will face Pauian Archiland (TPE) as well. The three teams will battle for two slots at the Final 8 round of the FIBA Asia Champions Cup.
