CHENZHOU (FIBA Asia Champions Cup 2017) -A strong endgame windup powered Taipei Dacin Tigers in crushing Shabab Al Ahli, 93-75, to formally book a seat in the Quarter-Finals.

The Emiratis were able to stick with the Taipei quintet for three quarters before the Dacin Tigers unloaded their full arsenal in the last ten minutes to cruise to their second win in four games. Dacin led by just 2 points entering the fourth quarter before a balanced inside-outside attack carried them to a double-digit lead early in the final frame.

Al Ahli had the edge in rebounding, but this was offset by their deficiencies in steals, inside scoring and outside shooting. Dacin's bench mob also stepped up here, outscoring their Al Ahli counterparts, 58-5.

Taipei survived the monster game of Al Ahli big man Qais Omar Al Shabebi, who racked up 37 points and 22 rebounds. Chang Chia-Jung paced the victors with 25 points on 9-of-15 field goal shooting, while Wang Tzu-Kang added 20 points off the bench. Foreign reinforcement Sim Bhullar played sparingly, scoring only 2 points in under 15 minutes of action.

Al Ahli still have a shot at making the Quarter-Finals if they beat ONGC India in their final game, while Dacin rest on the final day of the group phase.
