Al Riyadi complete Semi-Finals cast after blowing out Mono Vampire

CHENZHOU (FIBA Asia Champions Cup 2017) - Al Riyadi simply outclassed Mono Vampire Thailand to complete the Semi-Finals cast at the FIBA Asia Champions Cup 2017.

The Lebanese led from start to finish in this one, building a 10-point lead at the end of the first quarter and never letting the it slip away. Al Riyadi's playmaking was the key in this one as they assisted on 25 of their 45 field goals made. With great ball movement, it was no wonder that coach Ahmad El Farran's side shot so well form the floor - 54.2%. Al Riyadi's defense was also extra aggressive, forcing 24 turnovers on 17 steals and blocking 6 shots. They just flat out dominated on both ends of the floor.

Shooting guard Amir Saoud erupted for a game-high 30 points on the strength of 6 three-pointers. He also added 9 assists and a whopping 7 steals in a truly sterling effort. Al Riyadi were so offensively potent that three other players actually finished with at least 20 points - Quincy Douby, Ali Haidar and Wael Arakji.



Mono Vampire's foreign players - Jason Brickman and Mike Singletary - were disappointments in this game, pairing up for a total of 14 points and combining to shoot 6-of-19 from the field. National team standouts Theerawat Chanthachon and Darongpan Apiromvilaichai were the bright spots for Mono with 19 and 14 points respectively.

Awaiting Al Riyadi are West Asia rivals Petrochimi, with the winner moving on to the Final. The Thais fall to the classification round, where they are set to face Taipei Dacin Tigers next.
